Privacy Policy

1. Overview and Scope

At Loco ("we", "us", or "our"), your privacy is our highest priority. Loco is an offline-first digital signage platform that allows businesses to cast images, slideshows, and video loops directly to Android TV, Fire TV, and Google TV screens over a local WiFi network — without requiring any cloud connection for media delivery.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you create an account or sign in via a social provider, how that information is used, and the controls available to you. It applies to our mobile application (iOS and Android), the TV player app, and the web dashboard at app.locosignage.com.


2. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal data when you register for an account or sign in using a social provider:

2a. Registration (Email & Password Sign-Up)

When you create an account manually, we collect:

  • First Name & Last Name: Used to personalise your account and in-app experience.
  • Business Name: Used to identify your organisation within the app dashboard.
  • Business Category: Used to tailor content recommendations and relevant display templates to your industry.
  • Email Address: Used as your unique login identifier, for account security notifications, and to respond to support requests.
  • Password: Stored securely using industry-standard hashing. We never store or transmit your password in plain text.
2b. Social Login (Google / Apple Sign-In)

If you choose to sign in via a social provider (Google or Apple), we receive the following data from that provider with your consent:

  • Name (First & Last): Provided by the social provider to pre-fill your display name.
  • Email Address: Used as your unique login identifier, consistent with email/password accounts.
  • Profile Photo: Displayed as your account avatar within the app. We do not store this image on our servers — it is fetched directly from the provider's URL at display time.

We do not receive your social provider password, contact list, or any other account data beyond the fields listed above. Social login scopes are restricted to the minimum necessary.


3. Zero Cloud Storage of Media Files

Unlike traditional cloud-based digital signage platforms, Loco does not upload or store your media assets (images, slides, menu boards, or video loops) on our servers. All media transmissions occur strictly within your local WiFi network — directly from your mobile controller device to the paired TV screen. Your business visuals never leave your premises.


4. App Permissions and Rationale

To pair devices and display local media, the Loco apps require the following standard permissions:

  • Local Network Access (LAN): Essential to discover, connect, and pair with the TV player over your local WiFi router.
  • Camera Access: Required to scan the pairing QR code shown on the TV screen for instant, passwordless setup. The camera stream is processed entirely on-device and never transmitted.
  • Photos & Media Storage: Needed when you select and push local image or video files from your device gallery to the TV display. We do not copy, index, or retain access to any other files.

5. How We Use Your Information

The personal data we collect is used strictly for the following purposes:

  • Creating and securing your Loco account across devices.
  • Personalising your in-app experience (e.g., displaying your name and avatar).
  • Associating your digital signage screens and display configurations with your account.
  • Sending transactional emails such as password resets, email verifications, and account security alerts.
  • Improving app performance using anonymised crash and diagnostic reports.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.


6. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services that may process your data as part of providing our service:

  • Google LLC (Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication): Used to enable social login and secure account management. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Inc. (Sign in with Apple): Used to enable social login on iOS. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Crash & Diagnostic Reporting: Anonymous crash data may be shared via platform utilities (App Store Connect Diagnostics or Google Play Console Diagnostics) solely to identify and fix bugs.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. In compliance with Apple App Store Guidelines and Google Play developer policies, we provide a direct method to delete your account and all associated data.

Upon requesting account deletion, all account records — including your name, email, business details, and paired screen configurations — are permanently purged from our databases within 30 days. Profile photos fetched via social login are not stored on our servers and require no additional deletion action.

You can submit a deletion request directly from the app's Settings screen or via our Account Deletion Page.


8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

9. Children's Privacy

Loco is a business-oriented application intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.


10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
